an update from mom

My son-in-law, Mike, remains in critical condition. He hasn't bounced back from his near death episode 2 weeks ago. Today his blood oxygen saturations have been in the 70s most of the day. The doctors were concerned that they have been in the 80s for several days so they checked him with a bronchoscope and pulled out another large clot. I think that's when he slipped down into the 70s. My daughter, Barbara, has wanted her children to see their dad while is alive, especially if he doesn't survive. She talked to the social worker and got permission from the head of ICU for their little children Joey (age 4) and Julia (2 1/2) to visit. My sister Jackie and brother-in-law Fred picked the kids up from preschool and brought them over to ICU. They did very well spending time with Mike, singing, eating jello and drinking juice. It was a very nice time. It gave Barbara some peace.

We are still praying for a miracle and trusting that God is in charge and His perfect plan for Mike, Barbara and the kids will be done. Mike is such a wonderful person we don't want to lose him.

Thank you for your prayers, love, and support, Janet
